Slaves in a Land of Plenty

Nicki Boaz, a young lawyer has just graduated and is working in her father’s large corporation in San Francisco. Nicki dreams of becoming the most prominent corporate attorney in the country. However, her mother, a national heroine, is tragically murdered on the steps of the Supreme Court. Devastated, inexperienced, and ill-prepared for the conflict ahead, Nicki vows to take up her mother’s cause and fight to save the country.

Nicki’s fiery spirit causes conflict with the government, forcing her to go underground to a remote coastal island in Georgia. With the State determined to eliminate her before the national election, Nicki has only a small group of political prisoners and a file folder filled with her mother’s notes consisting of scribbles, unrelated one-line comments, and a numbered word list to help her.

Nicki’s fight for justice brings her face to face with evil at the highest level. The State knows that her knowledge of a secret document can change everything. For Nicki Boaz, the fight for freedom and deciphering her mother’s cryptic instructions is like swimming against the choppy current of a murky river at midnight.
